Coach Shane

I've been a certified personal trainer for almost 14 years. I hold certifications as a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist from ACE, plus a Level 1 Nutrition Coach certification from Precision Nutrition.

But here's what the credentials don't tell you... I didn't come from an athletic background. I wasn't the kid who played every sport or the teenager who lived in the gym. I came to fitness from the other direction... as someone who needed it to survive.

I'm a former alcoholic. I've made mistakes, had setbacks, and spent a lot of time in dark places. What I learned in those years is that strength training and nutrition aren't just about looking better or performing better. For people like us, they're tools for managing mental health.

I use training and nutrition the same way I use therapy... as part of my toolkit for managing anxiety and depression. I'm a strong advocate for mental health and therapy, and I believe they work best when combined with the physical practices that help regulate our nervous systems.

I also believe in creating safe spaces for people who haven't always found them in fitness. If you're part of the LGBTQIA+ community or any other marginalized group, you deserve coaching that doesn't come with judgment, assumptions, or the exhausting need to explain yourself.

I approach coaching with empathy, compassion, humor, and probably too much sarcasm. Because that's what I would have wanted during my dark times. There is no judgment working with me. We all have our battles and trials... I'm just here to help you through yours.

Real people, real coaching

Why I Coach Differently

I've been in the fitness industry for 14 years. I've seen the ugly parts—the toxic positivity, the body shaming disguised as motivation, the "no excuses" mentality that ignores mental health, the profit-driven programs that disappear when you need support most.

I do not want to be another cog in that system.

The fitness industry often treats people like problems to be solved. You're too heavy, too weak, too undisciplined. But here's the truth... you don't need fixing. You need support. You need someone who gets it. You need coaching that adapts to your reality, not the other way around.

I coach the way I do because it's what I needed when I was struggling. I coach from alongside you, not from a pedestal. I remember what it's like to be overwhelmed, anxious, and convinced you're doing everything wrong.

You're not broken. The system is.

What I Stand For

Mental Health First

Training and nutrition are tools for managing mental health, not just physical health. If your brain isn't in it, your body won't follow. We work with that reality, not against it.

Safe Space for All

LGBTQIA+ folks and people from marginalized communities deserve coaching that doesn't come with assumptions or the need to explain themselves. You're safe here.

No Judgment Zone

Missed workouts? Bad week? Need to adjust everything? That's not failure... that's just life. We adapt the plan, not your worth as a person. There is no shame in this space.

Long-Term Thinking

I don't do 30-day transformations or quick fixes. This is about building something sustainable. Many clients stay with me for years because the coaching evolves with them.

Strength Over Aesthetics

We're building strength... physical, mental, and emotional. What you look like is your business. What you can do, how you feel, and how sustainable your progress is? That's what I care about.

Radical Honesty

No BS, no sales tactics, no ghosting. I'll tell you what I see, what I think will work, and when something needs to change. You'll always know where you stand.

80's Cartoons

If you want to talk about The Legend of Zelda, the perfect deadlift setup, why Terminator 2 is a masterpiece, or whether Thundercats holds up... I'm here for it.

You Don't Need Fixing

Final Thought

The fitness industry will tell you that you're not enough. Not fit enough, not disciplined enough, not motivated enough. That if you're struggling, it's because you're not trying hard enough.

That's bullshit.

You don't need fixing. You need support. You need someone who understands that some days are harder than others. You need coaching that adapts to your life, not the other way around.

If you're tired of fitness culture that doesn't see you, tired of programs that don't flex, and tired of being told to just try harder—this might be the place.
