I started training with Shane in summer 2019 with the goal of getting stronger on the major lifts, squat, bench, and deadlift. I knew Shane was a wealth of knowledge on strength training and had seen his track record of success with other clients, so I thought he would be a good fit for my fitness goals. In hindsight, saying Shane was just “a good fit” would be an understatement. Shane came to each session prepared with my program, answered every technique question I had with eloquence and simplicity, and consistently provided a training environment that was both challenging and fun. From a programming standpoint, Shane offered a variety of purposeful accessory work to improve my major lifts, even bringing his own equipment to the gym to use. He knew when to increase intensity and when to focus on volume, indicating his depth of understanding of periodization programming. From a coaching standpoint, Shane always communicated in a straightforward manner, broke down movement patterns simplistically, listened to my feedback, and offered encouragement when needed. When I decided to sign up for a powerlifting meet, something Shane had encouraged me to do, he was integral to my winning first place. Not only did Shane write a tailored program to my strength goals that propelled me to success at the meet, he also got up early in the morning on a Saturday just to be there to cheer me on, offer guidance, and help out. That’s the type of person Shane is. When looking for a coach, a balance of technical “know what” with the practical “know how” is crucial. Shane embodies this balance. I am grateful for Shane being in “my corner” not only as a coach, but as a friend. I urge anyone looking for a trainer to seek out Shane.

Shane has really helped to transform my life, and make exercise a consistent part of it. I feel so much better overall! I had recently torn my ACL, and wanted to feel more comfortable moving around. I also wanted to get stronger. The best thing Shane did was explain why certain moves worked the way they do. It let me use exercises properly, safely, and effectively, even when I had to work on my own. Consistency also helped both the strength training and my knee a lot. I like the humor Shane brings and I also like that Shane will answer the questions I have, like “what muscles does this exercise work vs. the one we did last week?”, “What’s the proper form here?”, and similar. He made me laugh, challenged me to push harder, and just generally made exercise a thing I look forward to instead of dread or get annoyed about. It really changed my perspective, and my lifestyle

Shane is amazing! I have been working with him for 3 years, and he has helped me become much stronger and more confident in my body. I always had a weak core, but now I'm able to lift heavy things without hurting my back. Middle-aged, perimenopausal women face specific challenges, and Shane understands that. I love that he customizes each workout and is always gentle and encouraging. Alao, remote training with Shane during the pandemic has been convenient and a true lifesaver!

I have been training with Shane for almost 6 years. I started when I was recovering from a back injury and was scared to do anything although I knew training was what I needed to help me recover. Shane has a lot of knowledge about injuries and how to recover and he helped me get back to functioning as a whole person. I can't say enough good things about him. Working with Shane has been an absolute pleasure. I had hurt my back at work and for an entire year I was only able to sit or lay on the couch and even that was painful. I went to physical therapy, saw multiple doctors and got multiple injections and would talk to a pain management trainer at work at least twice a month. However, I was still feeling pain, which at that time made working out impossible. I had gained a lot of weight which caused a lot of depression. My close friend suggested working with Shane and I am SO happy she did. Not only did Shane come up with a pain free daily rehabilitation routine for me to do to strengthen my back muscles again he sent me very detailed videos demonstrating how to properly do each movement. He was also ready with alternative exercises if I happened to feel any pain during any of the original exercises he suggested for me. After only a few weeks of the daily rehabilitation routine I could feel great improvement with my back. I was able to move and sit in ways I wasn’t able to since my injury. Once my back was feeling better Shane gave me a work out routine to help me lose the weight I gained from my injury, at this moment I am down about 30 lbs and still losing. I have been getting many compliments from people at work and other people are noticing my weight loss as well. Even when there are times that I can’t keep up with the routine, I’ve learned good eating habits from Shane which really help with keeping the weight off when I can’t exercise. I am so grateful to Shane for all the help and guidance he has given me and I can not recommend him enough. Thank you so much Shane!

After two years of sitting at a desk at home with little movement and a toe surgery that left me wobbly Shane was great to start getting back into shape with. He took his time and never made me feel like I couldn’t do it. He asked what exercised I hated and never made me do them! He says there is always and alternative. If you are looking to get yourself back together again or even if you never were really together call Shane! He gets us! He is patient and knows how to work around injuries, quirks and stubborn old ladies!

Shane has been the personal trainer for my wife and I since late 2014. Within months of training with Shane I noticed the difference in my physique and as a result received several compliments from friends, family and coworkers! I love that the workouts that Shane gives me I can do anywhere long as I have some free weights including my make shift gym aka my kitchenette or back yard with my dog. He even gave my different body weight and band options for when I was on vacation. He gives me doable workouts for real life not extreme plans like ones I have followed before online that I want to quit after one week.

Shane has provided me with years of personal training and nutrition coaching. This has led to improved strength, weight loss, flexibility and a reduction in pain from my sitting at a desk all day. Shane has an interesting workout ready for every session and ensures I perform the exercises correctly and carefully. Shane has a way of pushing you so the workouts feel challenging but are never beyond your abilities. I personally do 30 minute sessions and find that to be a perfect amount of time. I have done both in-person and virtual sessions with Shane and both worked very well. In terms of nutrition coaching, Shane has a wealth of knowledge and does not subscribe to any one style of dieting or healthy eating. He can suggest recipes and help you figure out what, how much and when to eat to achieve your personalized goals. He can help keep you accountable for sticking to your eating plan or workout plan without making you feel bad if you fall off the wagon. He works with people of all abilities and ages. His services are so customized that he can very likely meet (and exceed) your needs.
